Did you know that Vodka got it's name from the Russian word voda which means water.

    Actually, Vodka means 'Little Water" in Russian, as a term of endearment such as "my little darling" It comes from the Polish word Zhinzennia Voda

    BobbyG, thanks for the correction. The source of my definition was a Food Network TV Show about Cocktails. I guess they didn't do their homework.

    I am Polish, and I have never heard of Zhinzennia Voda. It's not in Polish language, don't know what language it is though. Polish wódka means as Anthony said 'little water'.
