Simple Syrup

Simple Syrup (also known as sugar syrup or syrup de gomme) is very easy to make at home. You could just buy some simple syrup at the store but if you want your Daiquiris and Hurricanes to be special, then why not make your own.

It's called "simple" for a reason. Just mix equal parts sugar and water and then gently heat the mixture in a very clean pot. Stir slowly while heating until all the sugar has dissolved.

After letting the syrup cool, you can store it in a bottle. Simple Syrup should be kept in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
